Flanged ball valves are a type of valve widely used in various fluid control systems. Their unique design and functions make them the first choice in many occasions. Compared with other types of valves, there are the following significant differences:

1. Structural design

The core component of ball valves is a spherical valve core, which is rotated to open or close the fluid channel. This design enables valves to achieve rapid opening and closing within a relatively small rotation angle. In contrast, gate valves usually control fluids by lifting and lowering valve discs, and the opening and closing process is relatively slow, while butterfly valves adjust the flow rate by rotating valve plates.

2. Fluid resistance

Due to their spherical structure, ball valve flange type generate less resistance when the fluid flows, and can achieve higher flow efficiency. Relatively speaking, the fluid flow of gate valves is smoother when fully open, but may cause greater fluid resistance when closed; while butterfly valves affect the fluid flow rate when partially open, which may cause unstable flow.

3. Sealing performance

Flanged ball valve suppliers generally use elastic sealing materials, have good sealing performance, and can effectively prevent leakage. Under high pressure and high temperature environments, the sealing performance of valves is still reliable. In contrast, the sealing performance of gate valves may deteriorate after long-term use, while butterfly valves may leak under high pressure.

4. Application Scope

Valves are widely used in industries such as petroleum, chemical, and electric power, and are suitable for the control of various media, including gas and liquid. Gate valves are more suitable for fully open or fully closed occasions, while butterfly valves are often used to adjust flow and pressure control.

5. Installation and Maintenance

Valves are relatively simple to install and are usually connected by flanges for easy disassembly and maintenance. Other types of valves, such as gate valves and butterfly valves, may require more installation space and more complicated maintenance processes.

Flanged valves are significantly different from other types of valves in terms of structure, fluid resistance, sealing performance, application range, and maintenance. It is crucial to choose the right type of valve according to specific application requirements to ensure efficient and safe operation of the system. valves are often the first choice for many fluid control systems due to their superior performance.
